Saadiyat Island is geographically located at latitude 24° 31' 46" North of the Equator and longitude 54° 26' 18" East of the Prime Meridian on the Map of Untied Arab Emirates. Saadiyat Island is a low lying island 500 meters off the coast of Abu Dhabi island. A Dhs.100 billion (US$ 27 billion) mixed commercial, residential, and leisure project is currently under construction on the island, expected to be completed in 2018. According to government officials, Saadiyat Island is expected to become Abu Dhabi's cultural center.
